Semi-Automatic & Fully Automatic Cold Saw Model Selection Guide

Semi-Automatic & Fully Automatic Cold Saw Model Selection Guide

Think back to a few weeks when my blog was about choosing the correct manual cold saws that cut like butter. At that time, I promised you we would dive into selecting the right semi-automatic or fully automatic saws. Well, today I am keeping my promise. With 5+ different models there’s one for you that cuts like butter.

Keep in mind, it is most important to select or recommend the proper model or type cold saw for the application. Just because a certain model saw will cut material of a certain size, it may not be the right machine for the application. You must strive for a model that will give optimum cutting performance and minimize set up and down time. These automatic models are "load it and leave it" operation thus freeing up the operator.

Dake 350 SA Semi-Automatic Pivot Head Cold Saw:

Heavy Duty Continuous Cut-Off Requirements on a Daily Basis:

This model is designed for production runs, better blade life, continuous surface finish, and to eliminate operator fatigue, which can happen with a manual cold saw.

If I were running low to medium production of material 4” and under, where the operator is present or in a cell environment, this would be the saw for me. This low-cost, high-quality machine has many features that make this saw walk the walk and talk the talk.

Saw features includes semi-auto cycling, which requires the operator to just push a button or foot pedal while the saw does the rest. It also has a head-positioning system for minimized dead air cutting and “dove tail” slide vise. This allows positioning the main clamping vise forward or rearward from center. In return, you can set the cutting geometry of the material for more or less aggressive cutting. The 350 SA will miter left and right up to 60° angles. The blade is 14” and has variable speed control making it very versatile with a speed range of 20 – 105 rpms for optimum cutting of whatever material I throw at it.

Euromatic series 370 S Ferrous Semi-Auto Vertical Column Saw:

Extreme Heavy Duty Continuous Cut-Off Requirements on a Daily Basis:

The Euromatic 370 S is a semi-automatic, vertical column cold saw for cutting of larger and harder materials in a high-production environment.

When I need the power to cut the “big stuff” the “harder stuff” the “tricky stuff” this is the route I will go.

This saw boasts extreme rigidity for cutting thin wall tubing up to large diameter solids. It contains a vertical column with hardened ways and cast iron gib blocks, meaning you'll get clean, square cuts with minimal noise and effort. Additionally featured are unlimited mitering capabilities both left and right with slot cut cutting potential, and a rear adjustable vise for tailoring the machine to the application by altering the cut geometry.

Need I say more? I could, but what this saw can do as a semi-automatic will really step up to the plate, for the tough applications.

Euromatic series 370 S/L Non-Ferrous Semi-Auto Vertical Column Saw:

Extreme Heavy Duty Continuous Cut-Off Requirements on a Daily Basis:

The Euromatic 370 S/L is a semi-automatic vertical column cold saw for cutting of larger non-ferrous materials in a high-production environment.

Why would I choose this model over the ferrous model? For dedicated application of cutting non-ferrous materials, getting the best result on finish and tolerances possible. It leaves a mirror-like finish that eliminates me having to perform a secondary operation, and making a whole pile of chips on a daily basis from cutting a whole lot of parts.

This model has all the same features as the ferrous model and can perform these tasks with ease.

This is the best machine for best blade life possible, and has near mirror finish and extreme rigidity for cutting thin wall tubing up to large diameter solids. Vertical column with hardened ways and cast iron gib blocks means clean square cuts with minimal noise and effort. This saw has mitering capabilities up to 45° L, and a rear adjustable vise for tailoring the machine to the application by altering the cut geometry.

Other features include a head positioning system and way oiler. There’s plenty more of them, but all I need to know, is the saw will do my production job for me day after day.

Euromatic series 370 PP Ferrous Fully-Automatic Vertical Column Saw:

Extreme Duty Continuous 3 Shift Ferrous Cutting on a Daily Basis:

The Euromatic 370 PP is a fully-automatic vertical column cold saw for unattended cutting of larger, harder materials in a high-production environment.

All I need is to load it and leave it cutting, freeing up my operator to-do productive tasks, instead of having to babysit a saw. I also don't want to worry about unattended cutting in case there's a problem or the machine runs out of material. This machine has it covered.

This saw is bold enough to cut almost anything 5” and under, and miter-cut some of the most extreme angles possible. To me, it’s the ideal machine for harsh applications and here’s why:

Features include: extreme rigidity for cutting thin wall tubing up to large diameter solids, a vertical column with hardened ways and cast iron gib blocks meaning you'll get clean, square cuts with minimal noise and effort, unlimited mitering capabilities both left and right with slot-cut cutting potential, and a rear adjustable vise for tailoring the machine to the application by altering the cut geometry.

Also included are blade protection for longer life and safer operation, Digital Read Out length set, maximum stroke of 20” that can be multiple stroked 99 times, and piece counter with auto shut off and out of stock shut off.

Enjoy a built-in head positioning system and way oiler standard. Interchangeable heads can be purchased for the ultimate cutting of non-ferrous materials.

Other notable features include a 14 ½” blade with a 4 ½ hp motor and two speeds 25 / 50 rpm, full Plexiglas hood covering the entire cutting and feeder area with interlocks and steel guard covering the blade, air over oil head decent control and recirculating coolant supply, with chip drawer.

Euromatic 370 PP/L Non-Ferrous Fully Automatic Vertical Column Saw:

Extreme Duty Continuous 3 Shift Non-Ferrous Cutting on a Daily Basis:

The Euromatic 370 PP/L is a fully-automatic vertical column cold saw for cutting of larger non-ferrous materials in a high-production environment.

I have to have something for cutting miles of aluminum tubing to feed my CNC machines without a hic cup. Need the parts burr free to length and square while keeping the parts coming at a steady rate 3 shifts a day. Three shifts with three operators are also necessary, so the saw must be able to fend for itself, which it does with all the safety features and muscle built right into the machine. Read on to see what this saw can do for your non-ferrous application.

Features Include:

  • Near mirror finish and extreme rigidity for cutting thin wall tubing up to large diameter solids.
  • Vertical column with hardened ways and cast iron gib blocks means clean square cuts with minimal noise and effort.
  • Mitering capabilities up to 45° L.
  • Rear adjustable vise for tailoring the machine to the application by altering the cut geometry.
  • Blade protection for longer life and safer operation
  • Digital Read Out length set
  • Maximum stroke of 20” that can be multiple stroked 99 times
